Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has confirmed she is pregnant. She made the announcement at the Thank You Meet for her latest film, ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’, held in Hyderabad.
Samantha addressed the media directly at the event. She said she would be stepping away from work for some time.

“Sorry guys, one more small gap and then I will be back. I know I have to take maternity leave now. But I am very happy,” she told the press.

It is her first child. She and her husband, filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, are expecting together.
Samantha and Raj Nidimoru got married in 2025. It is the second marriage for both.
Samantha was previously married to actor Naga Chaitanya. They were together from 2017 to 2021. Raj Nidimoru was earlier married to Shhyamali De.
About ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’
The film centres on a woman who enters a traditional family as a new daughter-in-law. She appears composed and obedient. But the family does not know what she is hiding.
When her past resurfaces, she has to protect the very people who do not fully trust her. And she must do it without revealing who she really is.
Samantha spoke about the character she plays in the film.
“Maa Inti Bangaaram tells the story of a woman whose strength comes as much from her vulnerability as from her courage,” she said.
She also spoke about being a producer on the project.
“Playing this character and nurturing this film as a producer has been an incredibly fulfilling journey for me. The world of this film is rooted and emotional with a narrative style dedicated to being family first and slice of life, whilst maintaining its quirky, edgy energy. I am truly excited for audiences to experience this story and connect with its spirit when it reaches them,” she added.
